About Us

Austin Crumley, Founder of Ballet Reeducation, is an experienced Dance educator who holds a passion for creating an inclusive, human-first community in understanding the art form of Ballet. He believes Ballet education is for any body & classes should reflect this truth in structure & design.

Austin received his B.F.A in Ballet Pedagogy from The University of Oklahoma under the directorship of Mary Margaret Holt.  Afterward, he was hired as a professional company dancer with the Sacramento Ballet.  Throughout his performing career he has performed many works including choreography by, but not limited to: Ma Cong, Gerald Arpino, Darrell Moultrie, Ilya Kozadayev, Jock Soto, and George Balanchine.  He has performed both leading and ensemble roles as well as contemporary works which formed his understanding of all aspects of the physical art form. 

 

While dancing & teaching professionally Austin discovered a need within the art form -- a transformation in Ballet education to better support Ballet students.  So after retiring from professional dance, Austin pursued & earned his Masters in Education from Hope International University.   His goal is to progress the industry towards the standards of the 21st century by educating dancers & teachers of evidence-based & researched informed practices to make dance more accessible for all who enjoy it.
