The Curriculum Lab
Because "we've always done it this way" is not a curriculum.
Most ballet curriculum is built from tradition, gut instinct, and last year's notes. It works.. until it doesn't. Until you have a student who isn't progressing, a parent asking hard questions, or a program that looks different every year depending on your mood. This Lab gives you the system underneath the teaching.
This is for you if...
-
You feel like you're reinventing the wheel every time you sit down to plan your year
-
You're teaching multiple levels but your class structure doesn't actually reflect it
-
You want your curriculum to be measurable, not just memorable
-
You've inherited a program & don't know how to make it yours
-
You're ready to build something that grows with your students, not just your repertoire
Let's be honest: most of us were never handed a curriculum. We were handed a syllabus at best (a list of steps to cover) & told to figure out the rest. So we did.
We built programs class by class, year by year, on instinct and experience and occasional panic.

That works until it doesn't. And when it stops working, it's hard to know what's actually broken because nothing was ever formally built in the first place.

The Curriculum Lab is where you build it. Deliberately, strategically, and in a way that actually holds up across levels, years, and whatever your program throws at you next
Four modules. Six weeks of live support. Built to take you from class-by-class planning to a curriculum that runs your program, not the other way around.

Curriculum Mapping & Setting Learning Objectives
This is where you step back and see the whole picture. Most educators plan individual classes without ever mapping where those classes are going — what students should know by the end of a year, a level, a program. This module teaches you to build the blueprint: how to design a curriculum map, define learning objectives that actually mean something, and create a framework that gives your entire program a spine.
Class Progressions for Various Age Groups & Skill Levels
A curriculum without progressions is just a wish list. This module is where you chart the actual route — how ballet technique, artistry, and foundational knowledge sequence logically from beginner through advanced, and how those progressions shift depending on the age and development of your dancers. You'll stop inheriting progression lists you don't understand and start building ones you can own and explain.
Lesson Planning — The Teacher's Toolbox
With your curriculum map & progressions in place, this module brings it into the room. You'll build a practical lesson planning system (structured templates, exercise banks, flow and timing strategies) designed to make daily planning faster, more intentional, and directly connected to the bigger curriculum you've built.
This is where the strategy becomes a class.
Assessing Student Growth
Assessment in ballet usually means the recital.. or nothing at all. This module gives you a real system for tracking student progress against your curriculum objectives, gathering meaningful evidence of learning, and using that information to give better feedback, have better conversations with parents, and refine your curriculum over time. Your program stops being static and starts being responsive.
WHAT EDUCATORS ARE SAYING
From educators who've been in the room.

Curriculum Lab 2025 Participant
After learning content in the Curriculum Lab, I'm noticing that using the current school curriculum with this age group results in massive cognitive overload. Students are completely losing their focus and motivation.

Curriculum Lab 2025 Participant
I'm really good at planning my classes, but I plan them one at a time and I haven't really looked at the whole picture of where I'm going. I really want to have a bigger plan and know where I'm going — as opposed to just week by week. I'm excited.

FRQs
I don't have a formal curriculum right now — is this Lab still relevant for me?
That's exactly who this Lab is for. Most educators come in without a formal curriculum. They have a collection of habits, a loose progression, and a lot of instinct. This Lab gives you the framework to turn what you already know into something intentional and transferable. You don't need to have it figured out to start.
What if I teach at a small studio with only a few levels?
The curriculum design frameworks in this Lab scale to any program size. Whether you're mapping 2 levels or 10, the principles are the same. The Lab will help you build something proportionate to your actual context, not an idealized version of a program you don't have.
How is this different from just buying a curriculum template online?
A template gives you someone else's decisions. This Lab gives you the thinking behind the decisions so you can build, adapt, and explain your curriculum yourself. The goal isn't to hand you a finished product. It's to make you the person who knows how to build one.
What if I can't make the weekly live check-ins?
All check-ins are recorded and available within 24 hours. The calls are designed for application and accountability, bringing your actual work into the room and getting feedback on it. Showing up live gives you the most value, but the recordings keep you moving if your schedule doesn't allow it.
What if I can’t afford to pay all at once?
You don’t have to! We offer flexible payment plans through Klarna and Afterpay so you can spread out the cost in smaller, interest-free payments. You’ll see this option when you go to checkout—just choose your preferred provider and follow the steps.

Most educators spend years, sometimes entire careers, teaching without a real curriculum underneath them. Not because they don't care, but because nobody ever showed them how to build one. This Lab changes that in one summer.
