About

Austin is a passionate ballet educator dedicated to fostering inclusive, student-first learning environments that honor both tradition and innovation. With a B.F.A in Ballet Pedagogy from the University of Oklahoma—one of the nation’s top dance programs—he trained under Mary Margaret Holt, Clara Cravey Stanley & Ilya Kozadayev (to name a few) before dancing professionally with Sacramento Ballet.

Throughout his career, he has performed works by Ma Cong, Gerald Arpino, Darrell Moultrie, Ilya Kozadayev, Jock Soto, and George Balanchine, taking on both leading and ensemble roles that deepened his understanding of ballet’s physical and artistic demands.

After retiring from the stage, Austin earned a Master’s in Education, expanding his expertise to bridge the gap between classical ballet and modern pedagogy. As the founder of Ballet Reeducation, he provides higher education workshops, courses, and consultations to dance teachers worldwide, making progressive ballet education more accessible and community-driven. He is also a certified Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) instructor and integrates evidence-based teaching methods to create well-rounded, empowered dancers.

At his core, Austin believes ballet education should uplift, challenge, and evolve. His mission is to help dancers and educators move beyond outdated traditions, embracing evidence-backed practices that cultivate artistry, resilience, and longevity in the field & beyond.
